Raptor Science & Conservation Series

This free after-school program offers students of the Ojai Valley in grades 7-12 a unique opportunity to explore raptor ecology, rehabilitation, and conservation through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Led by experts from the Ojai Raptor Center and friends Students will gain insights into raptor biology, behavior, and the vital role these birds play in the ecosystem. With a blend of classroom lessons, live demonstrations, field trips, and interactive activities, participants will explore topics such as taxonomy, migration, species identification, and rehabilitation techniques. The program also highlights potential career pathways in wildlife rehabilitation, biology, conservation, and environmental education, encouraging students to develop practical skills in wildlife observation, conservation research, and animal care, while fostering a deeper connection to nature and environmental stewardship.

Fall classes will be held at Nordhoff High School on every Tuesday in October. Spring class dates TBA.
